About Our Campus
Newbreak's Tierrasanta campus is centrally located in the heart of San Diego, making it an easy drive for families and individuals throughout the region. We're a home church for neighbors in Tierrasanta, the military community of Murphy Canyon, Allied Gardens, Serra Mesa, Kearny Mesa, and Mission Gorge. Whether you're a longtime San Diego local or new to the area, our Tierrasanta campus offers a welcoming, non-denominational community where you can belong — no matter where you're coming from.
Our Campus
Newbreak’s Tierrasanta Campus offers engaging Sunday services alongside a robust family environment that includes Newbreak Kids for ages 3 months through 5th grade—with music, crafts, story time, and safe, age-specific classrooms—and the Champions Club for kids with special needs, while middle and high school students participate in Sunday gatherings that start in the main service before moving to the Student Center for games, worship, and student-focused teaching, as well as midweek Youth Night and after-school hangouts like The Spot; the campus is led by Pastor Markus Witherspoon and also serves as a central hub with on-site offices and weekly updates sent to families to keep them connected with events, resources, and the broader Newbreak community.
What can I expect at Tierrasanta?
Newbreak is a "come-as-you-are" church meaning you don't need to dress up or dress down, look or behave a certain way, or meet some expectation before you're welcome. We want to get to know the real YOU! When you arrive at any of our campuses, you will be greeted by friendly faces wearing Newbreak t-shirts who can direct you to where to go to check in your kids, grab a cup of coffee, and find a seat. Weekend services are about 75 minutes long and usually begin when you hear the live music starting. Song lyrics are projected onto the screens so you can sing along and/or engage with worship however you feel most comfortable. After the music, there is a brief time of announcements and receiving the weekend's offering, after which one of our pastors will come out to share a practical message about Jesus. Our Campus Pastor
Markus Witherspoon is the Campus Pastor at our Tierrasanta Campus. When he isn't speaking, leading the amazing Tierrasanta Campus staff, or leading worship, he is enjoying time with his wife, Nicci, reading books, studying theology and leadership, listening to podcasts, running, and cycling around San Diego. He's been at Newbreak since 2016 and is excited for the future of Newbreak Church, here locally in San Diego and around the world!
