Tierrasanta Students

We provide safe spaces for all students.

There's enough pressure on students these days -- from increased demands at school to greater competitiveness in sports to decisions about college and career to concerns about friends struggling with difficult issues.

About Our Students

It's hard to find a place to just "be". We provide a safe place for students from all different backgrounds and beliefs to come to simply connect with their peers and leaders alike and find people who will accept them right where they are. It is through these authentic connections that we want to show a non-judgmental Jesus who wants to have a relationship with us.

Our Summer Midweek Service

Wednesdays 6:30 PM - 8 PM (6-12th grade)

It is a place where we are equipping this generation of Middle schoolers and High schoolers to see evidence of God in their everyday life. The environment is a safe place and is set up for the students to grow in a community for them to be and to belong. The night will consist of Worship, a Message, games, and prizes. Then Students will break-out into Smaller Groups based on their age and gender. Great night for students to grow in faith and have fun!

All Student Sundays

Sundays During 9am & 10:45am Service

Middle and High school students combine every Sunday for worship, games and a message that is designed with students in mind and will mirror our messages in the main sanctuary which will help create conversations between you and your teens. There will also be a lot of fun along the way as we build a community that strives to follow after Jesus.

High School Groups

Wednesday 6:30-8:pm

Combine with MS for Worship and Announcements. Our High School Groups are our midweek Services where our Students (9th - 12th Grade) will learn about Jesus in a safe environment while also having authentic conversation and expressing as well as, growing into their own faith. Each week will consist of some time in youth led Worship, diving into a Message that will equip them and help them grow, learn and belong. Then Students will break-out into Small Groups based on their age and gender. We will have games, prizes, and snacks as we build a community that strives to follow after Jesus. Life Groups will begin again this fall, it will be every other week.

Life Groups

Life Groups are a place for Middle school and High schoolers to connect with other students who want to grow closer to God, through bible studies, book topics and questions.

Students meet together in-person every other week for life groups. And the other weeks not in life groups will be a gathering experience where they will hear a message from the leaders, worship and fun games. Being together in a life group is an awesome way for students to connect with other students and build a community who want to grow closer to God. Each life group is designed with an Adult leader and a group of students in the same age and gender.

Tierrasanta offers middle and high school Life Groups that meet on Wednesday from 7-8:30pm. After meeting together in a larger group for worship and to hear an inspiring message, students then break off into groups divided by grade and gender.

  • Vibe Night is a great event throughout the warmer months where we join up with students from our Scripps Ranch and Ocean Beach campuses. We head down to La Jolla Shores from 7-9:00pm for free food, drinks, games and a bonfire.
  • “The Middle” is a service for middle schoolers every Sunday during our 9:00am and 10:45am services. Students Worship in the main Sanctuary and then head to the East Wing for their own experience with a message, games, and connection.

Both Middle and High School students gather together for the beginning of Student Ministry on Wednesday nights, but then divide into their own life groups. On Sunday mornings, middle school students have their own event appropriately named “The Middle”.

Life group leaders are adult leaders who go to Newbreak and have been interviewed, and had a background check. And trained by our team. They are excited to walk together with the students as they grow in their faith.

We love our parents and want to walk alongside you in this season of their lives. Parents are always welcomed to join us for the service, events, as well as joining our team if interested. We welcome you with your questions and want to help give you resources to help you navigate this journey.

Our goal is to reach and impact a generation of students searching for hope, We do that by connecting them with others and discipling them towards Christ. We lead with authenticity and through those true authentic relationships, we are able to build upon a foundation of trust.

There are student events that are created throughout the year with a fun environment full of games, and impactful experiences for students. We have Vibe Nights at the beach, Water Wars, awesome Summer and Winter Camps, Youth Conventions, Special activities for Middle Schoolers as well as High Schoolers.

We love to see our students serve and they are welcomed and encouraged to do so in every area of our church. We have students who serve on the worship team, in tech booth, on the hospitality team, in kids ministries and all areas that are available. Students are also welcomed to go on mission trips and participate in all of our local outreaches.
