We’re committed to meeting students right where they are and helping them grow in their relationship with Jesus. Our goal is to create a safe, welcoming environment where teens can connect with God and build meaningful friendships with others their age. Every teen is welcome, and we’re excited to walk alongside them in this important season of life.

Sunday Services at 9am and 10:45am

Every Sunday, our Middle and High School students start with worship in the main sanctuary alongside their families, then head to the Student Center for games, community building, and a student-focused message that mirrors the main sanctuary teaching—making it easier to continue the conversation at home.

Who leads student ministry?

Student Ministries at Newbreak Tierrasanta is led by an incredible team of adults and student leaders who are passionate about helping students grow in their faith. Our heart is to create a space where every student feels seen, known, and deeply cared for, while being inspired and equipped to recognize God in their everyday lives. Through meaningful relationships and intentional leadership, we help students build a strong foundation in their relationship with Jesus and connect with others in authentic community.

How can parents help?

Are there separate age groups?

Yes and no—and for good reason. We believe there’s great value in Middle and High School students sharing certain experiences, as it encourages connection, mentorship, and a sense of unity. At the same time, we fully understand the developmental differences between these age groups.

That’s why we intentionally blend shared moments with age-specific spaces. On Wednesdays, students start the night together before breaking into grade- and gender-based Life Groups for more focused discussion and teaching. On Sundays, both groups come together for a combined Student Service, designed to engage students at every level.

The same is true for our Student Ministry events. While some events are designed for everyone to come together, like camps and water wars, we also offer events specifically for Middle School or High School students—ensuring each experience is relevant, fun, and impactful for where they are developmentally.

Our goal is to create a thoughtful balance that supports every student where they are—socially, spiritually, and emotionally.

Youth Nights on Wednesdays, 6:30 PM - 8 PM (6-12th grade)

Our midweek gathering kicks off with games and student-led worship, and then we break into grade- and gender-based Student Life Groups—led by trusted adult volunteers. These groups create a safe space to explore the Bible, ask tough questions, and grow in faith together. On the first Wednesday of each month, we switch things up for "First Wednesday"—a night all about fun and community! Past events include pizza parties, scavenger hunts, BBQs, worship nights, and video game competitions.

The Spot on Wednesdays, 2:30pm-6pm

The Spot is a safe, welcoming place for students to hang out after school, located in the Student Center. We offer food, a space to do homework, music, video games, and plenty of room to relax with friends. Our staff and volunteer leaders are always present to support students and help with any needs that come up.

Tierrasanta Student Events

At NB Students, one of our favorite things is coming together for exciting events! From High School All-Nighters and Middle School Half-Nighters to Summer Camps, Summer Vibe Nights, Mission Trips, and more. These events provide students with opportunities to deepen their faith, build meaningful friendships, invite others into our community, and actively live on mission for God's Kingdom—right where we are.
