Newbreak's Scripps Ranch campus is nestled in one of San Diego's most beloved family neighborhoods, serving the communities of Scripps Ranch, Mira Mesa, Poway, Rancho Bernardo, and Miramar. Whether you're raising kids in the suburbs or looking for a church community after a recent move to North San Diego, our Scripps Ranch campus is a casual church where real relationships are built and faith grows. Our Campus
Newbreak’s Scripps Ranch campus, led by Campus Pastor Jared Johnson, offers Sunday services at 9:00 am and 10:45 am in a welcoming, family-oriented environment with vibrant programming for kids and students, including Newbreak Kids for nursery through elementary age and the Champions Club for children with special needs, while middle and high school students participate in Sunday gatherings for worship, games, and relevant teaching, plus midweek Life Groups and high school gatherings that foster mentoring and community, and a “Third Space” Student Center open Monday through Thursday for homework, games, and connection; the campus also shares in church-wide weekly updates, providing sermon notes, kids and student resources, and event news to keep families engaged across all Newbreak campuses.
What can I expect at Scripps Ranch?
Newbreak is a "come-as-you-are" church meaning you don't need to dress up or dress down, look or behave a certain way, or meet some expectation before you're welcome. We want to get to know the real YOU! When you arrive at any of our campuses, you will be greeted by friendly faces wearing Newbreak t-shirts who can direct you to where to go to check in your kids, grab a cup of coffee, and find a seat. Weekend services are about 75 minutes long and usually begin when you hear the live music starting. Song lyrics are projected onto the screens so you can sing along and/or engage with worship however you feel most comfortable. After the music, there is a brief time of announcements and receiving the weekend's offering, after which one of our pastors will come out to share a practical message about Jesus. Our Campus Pastor
Jared Johnson is the Campus Pastor and main teaching pastor at Newbreak Scripps Ranch. Along with his wife, Julie, and three kids, they have a heart to connect with people and make them feel like family. He's been at Newbreak for 23 years and on staff for the last 12 years. He loves getting to know people over a cup of coffee, is excited for our shared future, and believes that the best is yet to come at Newbreak!
