Scripps Ranch Building Update
Newbreak Church is one step closer to breaking ground, with tier hold approval received and construction permits expected within five to ten business days. Scripps Ranch teams have been preparing the site—clearing storage spaces, planning Sunday gatherings at Scripps Ranch High School, and removing trees per the construction timeline. The update also highlights a creative non-cash gift, a donated moving truck, and encourages the church family to consider similar contributions as they push toward the $1.9M cash goal by the end of September.
We're more than halfway to breaking ground—here's how close we are.
From our Lead Pastor, JoAnn Johnson
We are one step closer to breaking ground! Last week we received notice that we were given approval for our tier hold request! Our plans are now in final version check and we can expect to receive the construction permits within the next five-ten business days! These past few weeks have been busy for our Scripps Ranch teams as we prepare the site for construction.
- Storage spaces at Scripps have been cleaned out, with old items being disposed of and items in good condition stored and/or put to use at one of our other campuses.
- Our team has toured the Scripps Ranch High School space and started planning where each ministry and attendees will gather on Sunday mornings. Teams of volunteers have been assembled and are meeting biweekly to determine what each ministry’s needs will look like at Scripps Ranch High School in the coming months.
- Tree removal and trimming is taking place this week in accordance with our construction plans and timeline.
As we continue to push towards our $1.9M cash goal by the end of September, I wanted to share one creative way that someone has contributed to our campaign. We were gifted a moving truck a few weeks ago which we are working on transferring title and pass inspections on, and this unique gift will enable us to move our Sunday services equipment back and forth between the High School space much more efficiently. I would encourage you to pray over all of your resources as we near the end of our campaign and consider if you, too, have any non-cash items that would be helpful over the next few months. If you’re unsure and have questions, we’d love to hear from you!
What's your next step?
As we enter this focused season, would you prayerfully consider one of these next steps?
- Stay faithful: Continue your regular tithes and offerings, which sustain the ministry and mission of Newbreak today.
- Extend your pledge: If your Prepare the Way commitment was scheduled to conclude in October, consider extending it another 6 to 12 months as construction moves forward.
- Give a one time gift: Consider a special gift in the next 60 to 90 days to help with construction startup costs. This could be through cash, stocks, or a company gift.
- Start giving: If you have not yet taken this step, consider beginning your generosity journey today.
We are asking our Newbreak family to join us in a focused, faith filled push to clear the path toward our future home. Thank you for being part of what God is building through Newbreak.
