Scripps Ranch Building Update
Newbreak Church has launched Shovel Watch, a series of regular updates tracking progress toward breaking ground on the Scripps Ranch Campus. The floor plans have been approved and the construction permit submitted, with a total project cost estimated at $2.3 million. Through the Prepare the Way initiative, the church has raised $1,060,225 toward its $1.9 million cash-on-hand goal, leaving roughly $840,000 remaining.

God has been so faithful through every season, and we are grateful for the way you have continued to show up, serve, give, and believe in what He is doing through our church. At the end of 2024, we launched a two year discipleship and generosity initiative called Prepare the Way.
Over the last two months, we have hosted update dinners to share a progress report on Prepare the Way. If you were unable to attend, some important information was shared at those dinners that we want to make sure you receive.
The past two years, we have worked closely with architects and the city to update the floor plans for our Scripps Ranch Campus. During that time, our Scripps Ranch church family has continued gathering outdoors, and God has continued to meet them again and again. Here is the good news: the floor plans have been approved, and the construction permit has been submitted. Once the permit is approved, construction can begin. We expect the project to take approximately 8 to 12 months. We cannot wait for our Scripps Ranch church family to return to a space equipped to serve both the church and the surrounding community to its fullest potential. The current cost estimate to complete this project is $2.3 million.
As we approach breaking ground, our goal is to have $1.9 million in cash on hand. We have secured a construction loan to bridge the gap if necessary, but every $1 borrowed costs approximately $1.76 to repay. Our hope is to reduce, or even avoid, that debt so more of what God provides can go directly toward ministry and mission.
As of today, because of sacrificial giving through Prepare the Way, we currently have $1,060,225. That means we are more than halfway to our $1.9 million goal, with approximately $840,000 remaining.
That is why we are beginning Shovel Watch, regular updates that will help us celebrate progress and see how close we are to reaching our breaking ground goal.
