Our culture here on earth, no matter what time period or location you look at, has never seen the path to greatness as one that begins with gentleness. Just look at the expectations people had of how the Messiah was going to come into the world - they expected someone who came onto the scene and shook things up, toppling the government and changing laws. But Jesus, as we know, came in with gentleness and encourages us to do the same.
