Wonderful News For The Merciful
Mercy is something that goes against our culture today. Generally speaking, if someone wrongs us or does something we don’t agree with, we are encouraged to seek revenge rather than have mercy toward that person. However, as we see in the fifth beatitude, Jesus not only encourages us to have mercy on those we love, but those we want nothing to do with because they live a different life than us.

From Series: "A Better Life"
This series takes us through each of the Beatitudes, using N.T. Wright’s translation of them. As we walk through this eight-week series, we are reminded that each of these are not entrance requirements into the kingdom, but rather states of being that reflect the characteristics of a true disciple. The Beatitudes reveal the paradox of happiness based on a posture of the heart.
