What is a Life Group Coach?

A Newbreak Life Group Coach is someone who encourages and challenges the Life Group Leaders to grow.

They are relational in their approach and offer direct support to the Life Group Leader.  Coaches are shepherds of shepherds who care for the well-being of the leader as much as they do the health of the leader’s group. They are experienced Life Group leaders who model Christ-like character while serving those that they lead.

Role of a Life Group Coach (EPIC)

Being a Christ-centered leader that impacts the lives of your group members requires constant growth and development as a leader. Coaches provide tools needed to equip the leaders for the work of ministry. (Eph 4:11-12; Hebrews 10:24-25).

As needs come up in your Life Group Leader’s life or the lives of those they lead, you are there to pray with them. Please reach out to them for prayer needs. (Romans 15:30, 2 Cor 1:10-11)

Coaches provide a safe environment for their leaders to process challenges and provide a helpful perspective. Coaches are great listeners who can offer invaluable feedback and guidance when needed. (Phil 1:9-11)

Healthy leaders produce healthy groups. If a Life Group leader is struggling and is spiritually drained, their groups will suffer with them. Coaches are there to provide encouragement and care for the well-being of the leader. They are there to encourage and shepherd the heart of the leader. They are there to remind the leader that they aren’t alone in this endeavor. (1 Thess 2:7-8).
